All The Likes VS The Right Likes
We have become a society obsessed with volume. How many people like you? How many people follow you? How many platforms are you using to gain traction? How much money do you make? How many friends do you have? How much, how much, how much, how much???
This is one way to prove to the world that you mean something. It’s probably not going to make you happy or build anything meaningful in the end, but it is one way to show people you mean something.
In his book, Tools of Titans, Tim Ferris asks entrepreneurs to hunt out their first 1000 true fans. That’s it, 1000 fans who are willing to pay you for your content, buy your product, subscribe to your podcast or show real interest in you. Just 1000 people, that’s it.
You don’t need to hit 1m instatokfacetube followers. You need 1000 people who absolutely love you and will share you with the world.
Stop creating content for the most likes.
Create content that scratches your itch.
Create content for your true fans.
Create content about things that move you, inspire you and drive you.
Don’t create content for likes, that is a failing strategy.
If you are trying to build something meaningful, start by finding the right target audience and then talk directly to them and only them.
Get the right likes, not the most likes. The rest will follow.
